University of California Fall 2027 Applications: Submit October 1 to November 30, $95 per Campus for International Applicants, No SAT/ACT

2026-10-16 · Admissions news

The nine University of California undergraduate campuses share one application. For fall 2027, the filing period is October 1 to November 30, 2026, with decisions in March 2027. International applicants need 15 year-long courses with a 3.4 GPA and pay $95 per campus; UC does not consider SAT or ACT scores.

The University of California's nine undergraduate campuses (Berkeley, UCLA, San Diego, Davis, Irvine, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Riverside and Merced) share a single UC application. UC's admissions website states that the fall 2027 filing period runs from October 1 to November 30, 2026. UC does not use the Common App and has no early round; every campus is applied to in this one window.

Key dates

  • August 1, 2026: The application opened; you can start filling it in.
  • October 1 to November 30, 2026: Submit your application.
  • March 1–31, 2027: Admission decisions (some campuses may release them earlier).
  • May 1, 2027: Deadline for admitted students to submit the Statement of Intent to Register (SIR).
  • July 1, 2027: Final official transcripts due for students enrolling; July 15: official AP and IB results due.

Basic requirements for international applicants

  • 15 year-long academic courses with a 3.4 GPA: 2 years of history (the history of your own country can replace U.S. history), 4 years of composition and literature in your language of instruction, 3 years of mathematics (including algebra and geometry), 2 years of science (covering at least two of biology, chemistry and physics), 2 years of a second language, 1 year of visual and performing arts, and 1 more course from any of these areas.
  • English proficiency: If your secondary school lessons were not in English, you need an English test score; see our separate news item on UC's English requirements.
  • SAT/ACT: UC does not consider SAT or ACT scores for admission or scholarships.
  • Application fee: $95 per campus; international students already enrolled at a U.S. institution may qualify for the $80 fee.

Advice for students and families

  • You do not send transcripts when applying, but you must report all courses and grades completely and accurately in the application; campuses verify official transcripts after admission.
  • Because UC does not use SAT/ACT, the Personal Insight Questions and your coursework carry more weight, so prepare early.
  • November 30 is a firm deadline and the system can be busy in the last few days, so submit early.
