How to Apply to Warwick Business School: Business and Management, Accounting and Finance and International Business and Management, with A-Level/IB, Chinese, Canadian High School and Transfer Requirements and Timeline
Warwick Business School’s flagship undergraduate degree is the BSc Business and Management (UCAS N200), three years or four with a placement year, alongside Accounting and Finance (NN34) and International Business and Management (N290), which includes a mandatory year abroad or placement. Business and Management asks for A*AA at A-level or IB 38, with GCSE Mathematics at 7/A, and Warwick’s highest English band, Band C (IELTS 7.0 with 6.5 in each component). Chinese senior high school graduates need a foundation programme first; for BC students, A*AA equals an 87% average in five grade 12 courses. The UCAS deadline is 13 January 2027, and 2026–27 overseas tuition is £35,530 a year.
Business degrees at the University of Warwick are taught by Warwick Business School (WBS). The flagship is the BSc Business and Management, UCAS code N200, three years full-time. Here is what you need to know for September 2027 entry, based on Warwick’s official information, for students at high schools in China (including A-level/IB students at international schools), students at Canadian high schools (including BC and Vancouver), and transfer students.
1. The courses
- Business and Management BSc (N200): three years. Year 1 builds the foundations; from Year 2 teaching is case-based, with four WBS electives that can follow routes such as finance, accounting or entrepreneurship, plus one or two modules from other departments; in Year 3 you choose seven electives. WBS’s PRACTICE framework runs through the teaching to build communication, leadership and teamwork.
- Placement year versions: Business and Management, Business and Management with Marketing, and Accounting and Finance are each available “with Placement Year”, a four-year course with the placement in Year 3.
- International Business and Management BSc (N290): four years, with a mandatory third year studying or working abroad; there is also a version with Marketing.
- Accounting and Finance BSc (NN34): three years; depending on modules, you may gain exemptions from some professional accountancy exams.
- Interviews: Warwick does not typically interview; offers are based on predicted and achieved grades, the personal statement and the school reference. Deferred (gap year) entry is welcome.
2. Entry requirements: A-level and IB
- Business and Management, International Business and Management: typical A-level offer A*AA with no required subjects, but you need GCSE Mathematics at 7/A and GCSE English Language at 6/B. IB 38 with no further Higher Level requirements.
- Accounting and Finance: A-level A*AA including an A in Maths; IB 38 including 6 in HL Mathematics (Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation).
- Contextual offers: eligible UK applicants to Business and Management typically receive AAB or IB 34.
3. Students at high schools in China
- Senior high school graduates: Warwick requires a foundation programme such as the Warwick International Foundation Programme (IFP). IFP graduates applying through UCAS receive a guaranteed conditional offer for a related course, for selected courses only.
- One year of university plus the Gaokao: students who complete the first year of a degree at a listed Chinese university with excellent grades and a Tier 1 Gaokao score may be eligible for direct entry to Year 1. The A*AA equivalent is 85% in the Gaokao, 85% in specific subjects and 85% or higher in first-year university results (depending on the university).
- CEIS: applicants through the China Excellence Identification Scheme are assessed on Gaokao percentage plus AST scores; for example, courses with Mathematics as an essential subject need 80% in the Gaokao with 210 in AST English and 230 in AST Maths and Physics, and courses with a high Maths requirement need 85%.
- Maple Leaf World Schools Program: A*AA equals an 87% average across five grade 12 academic courses.
- International school students: apply for Year 1 with A-levels or the IB as above.
4. Students at Canadian high schools
- British Columbia (and Yukon): the average across five grade 12 academic or AP courses, including subject requirements and with no overlap. A*AA equals 87% and AAA equals 85%.
- Other provinces: Alberta also uses five courses; Ontario uses six.
- English: English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 at 85% meets the Band C English requirement.
5. Transfer students
- The WBS course pages offer no route into Year 2. Chinese university students can use the one-year-plus-Gaokao route into Year 1; otherwise, contact Warwick Undergraduate Admissions.
