How to Apply to Business at King’s College London: Business Management, International Management and Accounting & Finance, with A-Level/IB/AP, Chinese and Canadian High School and Transfer Requirements and Timeline

2026-10-18 · Application guides

King’s Business School’s flagship undergraduate degree is the Business Management BSc (UCAS N200), three years with optional study abroad and CIMA accreditation, alongside the four-year International Management (N290) and the three-year Accounting & Finance (NN34) and Economics & Management (LN12). All four list A*AA at A-level; the IB equivalent is 38 points or 19 across three Higher Levels, and AP applicants can offer 55554 across five subjects. English is Band B (IELTS 7.0 with 6.5 in each skill). The deadline is 13 January 2027, and students who have completed a first year at 2:1 standard can apply to transfer into Year 2.

At King’s College London (KCL), business degrees are taught by King’s Business School. The flagship is the Business Management BSc, UCAS code N200, three years full-time at the Strand Campus. Here is what you need to know for September 2027 entry, based on King’s official information, for students at high schools in China (including A-level/IB/AP students at international schools), students at Canadian high schools (including BC and Vancouver), and transfer students.

1. The courses

  • Business Management BSc (N200): three years with optional study abroad. King’s says it spans economics, psychology, sociology, accounting, finance, marketing, law and human resource management; Year 1 is mostly required modules, and Years 2 and 3 mix required and optional modules so you can specialise or stay broad. The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
  • International Management BSc (N290): four years with study abroad, combining management and international modules.
  • Accounting & Finance BSc (NN34): three years with optional study abroad.
  • Economics & Management BSc (LN12): three years with optional study abroad.
  • All four course pages list A*AA as the required A-levels.

2. Entry requirements

  • A-level: A*AA. Offers are based on three A-levels; with four or more, the highest three count. Most courses do not consider AS-levels.
  • IB: King’s equivalence table maps A*AA to 38 points or 19 across three Higher Levels (the total includes TOK and the Extended Essay).
  • AP: at A*AA there are two routes: 55554 across five AP subjects, or three AP 5s plus SAT 1380 (at least 620 Maths and 650 Reading and Writing) or ACT 29.
  • Subject requirements: whether a course requires A-level Mathematics or other subjects, plus GCSE requirements and selection methods, are in the course page’s entry requirements section. That section loads dynamically and we could not read it, so check it on the course page before applying.

3. Students at high schools in China

  • International school students: apply with A-levels, the IB or AP as above.
  • Senior high school and the Gaokao: King’s general entry requirements page says country-specific requirements are in the “International applicants” part of each course page’s entry requirements; select China there. If your country or qualification is not listed, contact King’s Advisors.
  • International Foundation: King’s runs a one-year International Foundation Programme, applied for directly, for international students whose qualifications don’t give direct entry. Passing overall with B+ in the English module meets the undergraduate English requirement.

4. Students at Canadian high schools

  • King’s requirements for Canadian provincial diplomas are also in the “International applicants” section of each course page; select Canada there, or ask King’s Advisors.
  • Students with AP can apply on the AP routes above: 55554 across five subjects, or three 5s plus SAT/ACT.

5. Transfer students

  • Transfer into Year 2 is possible if you meet all of: the standard first-year entry requirements (such as A-levels or equivalent); a first year closely matching King’s first-year curriculum; and achieved or on-track first-year results at a 2:1 or high 2:1.
  • Limits: no transfer into the final year; some overseas degrees require at least two years of study first; places are competitive when qualified applicants exceed them.
  • Process: apply through UCAS by the usual deadline. Students needing a visa usually have to apply for a new one after a successful transfer.

6. English requirements (Band B, which covers King’s Business School)

  • IELTS Academic (including Online): 7.0 overall with at least 6.5 in each skill.
  • TOEFL iBT (including Home Edition): for tests from 21 January 2026, 5 overall with at least 4.5 in each skill; for earlier tests, 100 with at least 25 in writing and 23 in the others. Institution code 0394.
  • Others: PTE Academic 69 (62 in each skill; PTE Online not accepted); Cambridge C1/C2 185 (176 in each skill); Oxford Test of English Advanced 150 (140 in each component).
  • All scores must come from one test; TOEFL MyBest and IELTS One Skill are not accepted. Tests must be within two years of 1 September 2027 and submitted by the deadline in your offer.

7. UCAS application and timeline (September 2027 entry)

  • From 1 September 2026: applications can be submitted through UCAS.
  • 13 January 2027 (18:00 UK time): the standard deadline. King’s notes UCAS is more flexible for international applicants, but anything King’s receives after this date counts as late.
  • Personal statement: from 2026 entry, three questions (why this subject, how your studies prepared you, what you did outside education), 4,000 characters in total with at least 350 per answer.
  • Term starts in September 2027.

8. Fees and scholarships

  • Home students: £9,790 a year for new students starting in September 2026.
  • International students: King’s lists each course’s fee on its course page; the Business Management fee panel loads dynamically and we could not read it, so check the course page. Fees may rise in later years under King’s terms.
  • Scholarships: King’s has a searchable funding database covering UK and international students; this guide has not checked specific amounts.
