Calgary French & International School
Calgary, Alberta · Day school · Co-ed · Grades Junior Preschool–12
Calgary French & International School, founded in 1969 as The Calgary French School, was Calgary's first French immersion school. Its Cougar Ridge campus in southwest Calgary serves more than 850 students from Junior Preschool (from 19 months) to Grade 12. Teaching is in full French immersion, with Spanish as enrichment. The school has held IB Diploma authorization since 2019, with a full French diploma option; it is a PYP candidate school and is developing the MYP, aiming to become a full IB continuum school. It is CAIS-accredited, a Round Square member and a UNESCO Associated School. The Embark program admits students without French in Grades 1–4 and 7; applicants to Grades 5, 6 and 8 and up must currently attend a French immersion or francophone school. International families are welcome, but the student must hold a valid study permit or visitor record and live with family; the school offers no boarding or homestay.
