Deerfield Academy, founded in 1797, is located in the historic village of Deerfield, Massachusetts. It admits students to grades 9 through 12 and a postgraduate year, for September entry only. The school currently enrolls boarding and day students but has announced a move to a fully boarding model from fall 2027, with a single comprehensive tuition and no additional fees. The curriculum includes honors, accelerated and AP-designated courses, and seniors can pursue research or independent study through the Senior Scholars Program. Testing is required by grade level (SSAT/ISEE or PSAT/SAT/ACT), and applicants who have not studied in English for at least three years or do not speak English at home also submit IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo results. International families can receive need-based aid up to full tuition. The priority application deadline is January 15.
