How to Apply to Undergraduate Business at Lehigh University: The BS in Business and Economics and the Cross-College Computer Science and Business and Integrated Business and Engineering Degrees, with Requirements and Timeline for Chinese, Canadian High School and Transfer Students
Lehigh University’s College of Business offers four undergraduate degrees: the BS in Business and Economics, its largest program with about 1,260 undergraduates, a major chosen by the end of sophomore year and 124 credits; and the cross-college Computer Science and Business, Integrated Business and Engineering (an honors program admitting about 50 a year) and Integrated Business and Health degrees. Lehigh’s ED I deadline is 1 November and ED II and Regular Decision are due 1 January, with no Early Action; testing is optional and English benchmarks include TOEFL 5.5 (new scale) or IELTS 7.5. Typical 2026-27 costs are about $89,820, and aid for international students is need-aware. Based on Lehigh’s official information, this guide covers degrees, majors, deadlines, costs and transfer rules.
At Lehigh University, undergraduate business is taught by the College of Business, one of Lehigh’s four undergraduate colleges. Here is what you need to know for fall 2027 entry, based on Lehigh’s official information, for students at high schools in China, students at Canadian high schools (including BC and Vancouver), and transfer students.
1. Four undergraduate degrees
- BS in Business and Economics: the largest program, with about 1,260 undergraduates. It combines a business core, at least one major and 15 credits across the social sciences, humanities and natural sciences; 124 credits are required.
- Computer Science and Business (CSB): an interdisciplinary degree with the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science, which Lehigh says is accredited in both computer science and business.
- Integrated Business and Engineering Honors (IBE): offered jointly with engineering, focused on product development and entrepreneurship; admission is highly selective, limited to about 50 students a year.
- Integrated Business and Health (IBH): with the College of Health, combining the business core with health economics and policy.
- Choosing at application: Lehigh’s apply page lists its colleges but does not explain separately how to select a college or these cross-college programs, so confirm in the application or with admissions.
2. BS in Business and Economics: courses and majors
- First year: writing, calculus (MATH 021 or 081), economics, business foundations, statistics (ECO 045), and management and business analytics courses, about 21 credits.
- Choosing a major: by the end of the second semester of sophomore year; a 2.0 major GPA is needed to graduate, and up to two majors are allowed.
- Majors: the catalog lists eight: accounting, business information systems, economics, finance, management, marketing, business analytics and supply chain management. The degree page lists seven (without business analytics); the catalog is used here.
- Minors: Business Information Systems, Entrepreneurship, FinTech, Management, Real Estate and Supply Chain Management, plus an International Business Certificate.
- Transferring in from another Lehigh college: the catalog refers to students who “later decide to transfer into the College of Business”, so internal transfer exists, but Lehigh does not publish the conditions; ask the college’s undergraduate office.
3. Deadlines for applying to Lehigh
- Early Decision I (binding): due 1 November, decisions in mid-December.
- Early Decision II (binding): due 1 January, decisions in mid-February.
- Regular Decision: due 1 January, decisions in late March. Lehigh has no Early Action.
- Materials: application and Lehigh questions, school report and transcript, one teacher recommendation, mid-year report; $75 fee.
- Minimum coursework: 4 years of English, 2 of a foreign language, 2 of social science, 2 of laboratory science, 3 of college-preparatory mathematics and 3 electives; performance in courses related to your intended area is considered.
4. Students at high schools in China
- Test optional: SAT or ACT is your choice, and Lehigh uses the highest section scores across dates.
- English: non-US citizens submit TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo. Lehigh’s guide: TOEFL 95+ (old) or 5.5+ (new), IELTS 7.5+ or Duolingo 120+ is strong; TOEFL 4.0 to 5.0 (new), IELTS 6.5 to 7.0 or Duolingo 110 to 119 may need extra language support.
- Gaokao: Lehigh does not say how Gaokao results are used.
5. Students at Canadian high schools
- Same process and deadlines; Lehigh publishes no Canada- or BC-specific grade requirements.
- Students whose first language is English, or who studied in English for the two most recent full academic years, are exempt from English testing.
6. Costs and aid
- Typical 2026-27 costs (US$): tuition 69,420, first-year housing 11,470, full meal plan 7,760, plus technology, activity and wellness fees, for a total of 89,820. The extra $910 college fee is listed for Engineering and Science, Arts and Sciences, and Health, not Business. The international page estimates tuition, room and board at more than $98,900 a year.
- Aid for international students: limited, so admission is need-aware for non-US citizens who apply for aid; submit the CSS Profile by the deadline.
7. Transfer students
- Deadlines: fall 1 April, spring 1 November.
- Credit: only grades of C or better transfer (never C-), and transferred grades do not count in the Lehigh GPA; credit for outside courses needs advance approval through a transfer credit form.
- Business minor courses: the catalog says FIN 001, MGT 117 and ACCT 108 cannot substitute for College of Business core courses if a student later transfers into the college.
