Fordham University in New York teaches undergraduate business through the Gabelli School of Business, with programs at Rose Hill (the Bronx) and Lincoln Center (Manhattan). Here is what you need to know for fall 2027 entry, based on Fordham’s official information, for students at high schools in China, students at Canadian high schools (including BC and Vancouver), and transfer students.
1. Apply directly to the business school
- Campus and college: you choose a campus (Rose Hill or Lincoln Center) and a college when you apply; for business, choose the Gabelli School of Business. Fordham evaluates you for the campus and college you apply to.
- Major in sophomore year: Gabelli students choose a major or concentration in their sophomore year.
- The two campuses differ:
- Rose Hill: home of accounting (the 120-credit Public Accounting and 150-credit Public Accountancy programs), plus Accounting Information Systems, Applied Accounting and Finance, Business Administration (with a primary concentration), Finance, Information Systems and Marketing; just over 2,700 Gabelli students study here.
- Lincoln Center: Analytics and Information Technology, Entertainment and Media Management, Finance and Marketing; Digital Media and Technology is only for students who started in fall 2025 or earlier. About 800 students.
- Concentrations and minors: Business Administration majors add a primary concentration (Accounting, Business Economics, Consulting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Information Systems, Management, Marketing or Social Innovation) of four to five courses; secondary concentrations include Alternative Investments, Investment Banking, Value Investing and Digital Marketing, and minors include Business Law and Ethics and Economics.
- Integrated business core: a four-year sequence covering marketing, finance, strategy, accounting, information technology and business communication, taught through real-world scenarios.
- Fast facts: 3,513 Gabelli undergraduates; international students make up 11.31% at Rose Hill and 18.33% at Lincoln Center; the mean test score for the Class of 2029 was 1413; 668 students entered at Rose Hill in the Class of 2029.
2. Deadlines (fall 2027)
- Early Action (non-binding): 1 November 2026, decisions 20 December.
- Early Decision I (binding): 1 November, decisions 20 December, deposit by 15 January 2027.
- Regular Decision: 3 January 2027, decisions 1 April.
- Early Decision II (binding): 3 January, decisions 15 February.
- Apply through the Common App with an $80 fee, an essay, your high school transcript and one recommendation letter.
3. Students at high schools in China
- Test optional: the SAT and ACT are not required; you can self-report scores.
- English is required: TOEFL iBT 4.5 on the new scale (90 for earlier scores), IELTS 7.0, Duolingo 125, PTE 65; students in China may also use TOEFL ITP Level 1 with the Vericant interview, minimum 575.
- Transcripts: Year 9 plus high school; if leaving exams are part of graduation, your school should send predicted or achieved results. Fordham publishes no Gaokao policy.
- AP and IB: AP scores of 4 or 5 in Calculus, Statistics, Macroeconomics and Microeconomics can earn credit; IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches earns credit for MATH 1206 and Applications and Interpretation for MATH 1700, and IB Business Management earns three business elective credits.
- A-levels: Fordham does not describe how A-levels are credited.
4. Students at Canadian high schools
- The same deadlines and materials apply; Fordham publishes no Canada- or BC-specific grade requirements.
- Students with four years at an English-medium school can request an English waiver.
- Students with foreign citizenship who need an F-1 visa follow the international aid rules above.
5. Costs and aid
- Gabelli costs for fall 2026 entrants (US$): tuition 68,886, fees 2,063, food and housing 25,805, plus books, transportation and other costs, for a resident total of about 102,188. International students also pay a $76 service fee per term and a $514 orientation fee. Fall 2027 costs are not yet published.
- Need-aware review: for first-year applicants on a non-immigrant visa.
- Need-based aid: limited; you must show a family contribution of at least $50,000 a year and file the CSS Profile by the deadline.
- Merit scholarships: every complete application is considered; awards for highly qualified international first-years are $10,000 to $25,000 a year.
6. Transfer students
- Deadlines: 1 June for fall entry, with rolling decisions from 15 March; 1 November for spring entry. Gabelli admits transfers in both terms, and you apply to one campus only.
- Rose Hill: you need high school Precalculus, Calculus, AP Calculus or IB Math, or one college course in Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus or Finite Math; Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Statistics are recommended.
- Lincoln Center: a very small, selective transfer class. You must bring credit for, or complete before the consulting challenge semester, college-level Finite Math, Calculus, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Statistics and Financial Accounting. AP 4 or 5 is accepted for Calculus and both Economics courses but not Statistics, and Financial Accounting also requires a placement exam on arrival. The consulting challenge runs only in fall, so students who already have credit for those courses should apply to Rose Hill.
- Credit: up to 60 credits for courses with a C or better; at least two years of full-time study at Fordham. A preliminary evaluation arrives about two weeks after admission; coursework from universities abroad must first be evaluated by WES.
- Internal transfer: current Fordham students who want to move into Gabelli should speak to the Academic Advising Center; no criteria are published.
- Aid: international transfers cannot receive need-based aid but are considered for merit awards of up to $25,000 a year.
- Conflicting information: the transfer page lists three Lincoln Center majors (Finance, Marketing, and Digital Media and Technology), while the majors page lists Analytics and Information Technology, Entertainment and Media Management, Finance and Marketing, with Digital Media and Technology limited to students who started in fall 2025 or earlier. Confirm with admissions.
