Augusta University’s B.S. in Computer Science is in the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences, with an industry-sponsored senior design project. First-year applicants must submit one of the SAT, ACT or CLT and need at least a 3.0 GPA recalculated on 17 required high school courses; the fee is USD 60. For fall 2027, Early Action closes October 31, 2026 and the final deadline is July 1, 2027. English: TOEFL 4.0 (79 before 2026) or IELTS 6.5, or a C or better in A-Level English. The 2026-27 out-of-state on-campus cost is USD 45,388.

Augusta University is in Augusta, Georgia. Its computer science degree is offered by the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences. This guide summarizes what the university publishes for students at high schools in China (including A-Level, IB and AP students), students at Canadian high schools (including BC and Vancouver), and transfer students.

1. Degree and courses

  • Degree: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. The program page says coursework covers software engineering, computer graphics, programming, mobile app development and artificial intelligence.
  • Senior design: the Senior Design Project puts teams of 3–5 seniors, mentored by a school professor, with an engineer or manager from a sponsoring agency to solve real technical problems.
  • First-year community: the JAGByte Living Learning Community lets the school’s incoming freshmen live and study together and join exclusive activities.
  • Other degrees in the school: B.S. in Cyber Operations, B.S. in Cybersecurity and B.S. in Cybersecurity Engineering. The school is located at the Georgia Cyber Center.
  • Accreditation: the program and school pages we read do not mention ABET accreditation.
  • Credits and course list: the program page’s “Course List” points to the catalog (catalog.augusta.edu) and its “Track Sheet” is on a third-party file host. Our access to the catalog was blocked and we did not use the file host, so total credits and required courses were not checked; see the catalog directly or contact the school (ccs@augusta.edu).

2. Admission to the major

  • The pages we read do not describe a separate entry requirement for computer science or the conditions for changing into it (not published). Confirm with the school.

3. First-year application

  • Testing (one is required): SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 480 and Math 440; or ACT English or Reading 17 and Math 17; or CLT Verbal Reasoning and Grammar/Writing 36 and Quantitative Reasoning 13. Augusta superscores.
  • GPA: recalculated only on the 17 required high school courses (4 English, 4 math, 4 science, 3 social science, 2 foreign language), with a minimum of 3.00. Meeting the minimums does not guarantee admission.
  • Fee: USD 60 (non-refundable); NACAC, College Board and ACT fee waivers are accepted. Admitted students confirm with a USD 200 non-refundable deposit.
  • 2027 dates (freshman page):
    • Fall 2027: Early Action October 31, 2026 (decisions by November 15), scholarship deadline February 1, 2027, final deadline July 1, 2027.
    • Spring 2027 closes December 1, 2026, and summer 2027 closes April 1, 2027.
  • Spring deadline, which differs between pages: the freshman page says spring 2027 closes December 1, 2026, while the deadlines page says January 1 for spring (no year shown). Confirm with Admissions.

4. International application

  • Requirements: international applicants must meet the university’s general admission requirements (the first-year testing and GPA requirements above) as well as the international requirements. Submit the application and the USD 60 fee first, then send other documents; documents received after the deadline leave the application incomplete.
  • Transcripts: transcripts from every high school attended are required. For high schools outside the U.S. without U.S. regional accreditation, Augusta recommends (does not require) a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member such as Josef Silny, WES, ECE or The Evaluation Company. College transcripts from courses taken during high school are also required.
  • I-20: after confirming acceptance, students submit financial and other documents when invited; acceptance must be confirmed at least 90 days before the semester starts.
  • Deadlines: the international page only says to submit by the “assigned application deadline” and lists no separate international dates; confirm with Admissions.

5. English requirements

  • Test minimums: TOEFL iBT 4.0 (79 for tests before 2026), IELTS 6.5, PTE 58, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 480, ACT English 17, EIKEN Pre-1, MET 59 and Cambridge English Scale 177.
  • Exam grades: IGCSE and O Level English D or better, UK GCSE English C or better, A-Level English C or better, and Edexcel International A-Level and IGCSE English D or better all count.
  • Other routes: graduation from a U.S. high school; an approved University System of Georgia ESL program; a degree where English is the official language of instruction; or English 1101 or 1102 with a C or better at a U.S. institution.
  • The page does not list country-based exemptions.

6. Students at high schools in China

  • Submit one of the SAT, ACT or CLT and meet the section minimums.
  • How the Gaokao is used is not published; ask Admissions (admissions@augusta.edu).
  • A-Level students can use A-Level English at C or better to show English proficiency.
  • Credit by exam: the credit-by-exam page says AP Computer Science A with a 3 earns CSCI 1301 (4 credits). The page’s IB table has no computing course, and A-Level credit is not described.

7. Students at Canadian high schools (including BC and Vancouver)

  • The English requirements list no country-based exemptions and do not mention Canada. Whether study at an English-language Canadian high school waives the English requirement should be confirmed with Admissions.
  • Grade requirements and conversion for BC courses are not published. First-year GPA is recalculated on the 17 required courses; confirm how BC courses map to them with Admissions.

8. Transfer students

  • Transfer students: 30 or more transferable semester credits (45 quarter hours) and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.3 on all college courses attempted.
  • Transfer freshmen: students who attended college after high school with fewer than 30 transferable credits also need a 2.3 GPA and must meet freshman requirements (SAT/ACT, high school GPA and the required high school curriculum).
  • Colleges abroad: the international page says a course-by-course evaluation is required for colleges outside the U.S. without U.S. regional accreditation, or the application is incomplete.
  • Any extra requirement for entering computer science is not published. Check the Transfer Equivalency Guide for how courses transfer.

9. Costs

  • 2026-2027 cost of attendance (undergraduate, out-of-state, on campus): tuition USD 24,568, fees 1,350, housing 8,564, food 4,574, books 1,330, transportation 1,828, miscellaneous 3,078 and student loan fee 96, totaling USD 45,388.
  • The cost page does not list international students separately; international students must show they can cover tuition, books, living expenses and travel.
  • Scholarships: the first-year scholarship deadline is February 1, 2027. The pages we read do not list scholarships or amounts for international students (not published); ask Admissions or Financial Aid.

10. Checklist
