Six SAT dates run between October 2026 and June 2027, and the same dates and deadlines apply to candidates in the United States and internationally.
| Test date | Registration deadline | Late registration / changes |
|---|---|---|
| 3 October 2026 | 18 September 2026 | 22 September 2026 |
| 7 November 2026 | 23 October 2026 | 27 October 2026 |
| 5 December 2026 | 20 November 2026 | 24 November 2026 |
| 6 March 2027 | 19 February 2027 | 23 February 2027 |
| 1 May 2027 | 16 April 2027 | 20 April 2027 |
| 5 June 2027 | 21 May 2027 | 25 May 2027 |
All deadlines expire at 11:59 p.m. Eastern. Registering after the first deadline adds a $38 late fee; late registration is available worldwide.
If you need to borrow a device, the real deadline is earlier
The SAT is taken in College Board's Bluebook app on a laptop or tablet. Students who do not have one can borrow a device from College Board, but that request has to be made at least 30 days before test day — well before the ordinary registration deadline. For the March 2027 sitting that means early February, not mid-February.
Picking a date
Scores from a weekend SAT are typically available a couple of weeks after the test, which matters when a scholarship deadline sits in December or January. Working backwards from the deadline rather than forwards from today is the safer way to choose.
School-based testing runs on its own windows: autumn 2026 in-school SAT, PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 8/9 fall between 1 and 30 October 2026, and the spring 2027 window is 1 March to 30 April 2027.
