How to Apply to Business at NTU Singapore: Nanyang Business School’s Four-Year Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Accountancy and Double Degrees, with Requirements and Timelines for Gaokao, International Curricula, Canadian High School and Transfer Students
Nanyang Business School at NTU offers a four-year Bachelor of Business (Single or Double Major, four years from the 2026 intake), a three-year Bachelor of Accountancy and double degrees such as Accountancy and Business, all applied for directly. Gaokao applicants need 80% of the maximum score and apply between 15 October 2026 and 19 March 2027; Canadian students need at least 90% in each of five Grade 12 courses and apply by 20 January 2027. Business tuition for 2026/27 is SGD 21,800 a year for international students with the MOE Tuition Grant and SGD 45,600 without it.
Undergraduate business at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is taught by Nanyang Business School (NBS), which NTU says is accredited by EQUIS and AACSB. You apply directly to a specific degree. Here is what you need to know for August 2027 entry, based on NTU’s official information, for students at high schools in China (Gaokao and international curricula), students at Canadian high schools (including BC and Vancouver students), and transfer students.
1. The business degrees
- Bachelor of Business (Hons) (BBus): four years from the 2026/27 intake (previously three), in two versions:
- Single Major: 128 AUs and one of seven majors (Actuarial Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Human Resource Consulting, International Trading, Marketing, Risk Analytics), with 33 AUs of electives that can go towards credit-bearing internships or a Second Major from another college (Economics, Psychology, Strategic Communication, Sustainability, Entrepreneurship);
- Double Major: 137 AUs and one of ten curated pairs, such as Finance and Accounting, Finance and Business Analytics, or Marketing and Business Analytics; both majors appear on the degree scroll, but no Second Major can be added.
- Majors are chosen at the end of Year 1. The minimum candidature is 3.5 years, but NBS recommends four.
- Bachelor of Accountancy: three-year direct honours, 111 AUs, with variants including Accountancy (Sustainability Management and Analytics), Second Majors in Entrepreneurship or Sustainability, and a Minor in Digitalisation and Data Analytics. Listed accrediting bodies include ISCA, ICAEW, CA ANZ, ACCA, CPA Australia and CIMA.
- Double degrees:
- Accountancy and Business: four years, 141–142 AUs, awarding both degrees;
- Accountancy and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence;
- Business (Business Analytics) and Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- The Bachelor of Applied Computing in Finance is also an NBS degree.
- Double degree versus Double Major: NBS says the Accountancy and Business double degree supports a faster track to chartered accountant accreditation, while the Accounting major in the BBus Double Major is not intended to meet accountancy bodies’ accreditation requirements.
2. Subject requirements
- Business, Accountancy, and Accountancy and Business: a good grade in Additional Mathematics at junior high school level and in English at senior high school level.
- Applied Computing in Finance, and Accountancy and Data Science and AI: Mathematics at senior high school level, plus a good grade in senior high school English.
- Interviews: the subject table says some Accountancy and Business double degree candidates may be invited for interviews; the BBus pages say some applicants may need interviews or tests.
- These come from NTU’s minimum subject requirements PDF for international qualifications; the version currently posted is for 2026 entry, so check for updates for 2027.
- Meeting the minimum does not guarantee admission; selection is competitive and merit-based.
3. Students at high schools in China
- Applying with Gaokao results: at least 80% of the maximum Gaokao score, plus a valid CSSD Verification Report from CHSI.
- Gao 3 students awaiting results:
- apply with strong Gao 1 and Gao 2 transcripts;
- submit official Gaokao results within 3 days of release, or the application stops;
- eligible applicants are invited to interviews in July, and final decisions depend on the interview.
- No Gaokao: apply with high school graduation results, assessed case by case. Students in the Gaokao curriculum who do not sit the Gaokao, and students taking AP exams independently, apply in this category.
- Optional extras: AST results (at least English, Mathematics and one more subject) or at least five AP exams at 4 or 5, submitted together with Gaokao results or Gao 1–2 transcripts.
- Application window: 15 October 2026 to 19 March 2027.
- English: IELTS Academic 6.5 with 6.5 in writing and speaking; TOEFL 90 or 4.5 with 25 (or 4.5) in writing and speaking; or PTE 55, C1 Advanced 170, SAT 1250 (60 in Reading and Writing), ACT with Writing 30, or AST English 220. NTU notes these scores are generally for Science, Engineering and Computing, and that non-science programmes, double degrees and double majors may require more; no separate business score is published.
4. International curricula (A-level, IB, US)
- UK A-level: good grades in at least four A-levels in the same sitting; international applicants with only three are usually considered case by case only with outstanding achievements. Window: 15 October 2026 to 19 March 2027; those sitting A-levels in May/June 2027 are not considered this cycle.
- IB Diploma: deadline 19 March 2027; May 2027 candidates can apply on time and submit final results within three days of release in July, authorising the IBO to send results to NTU.
- US high school diploma with AP: window 15 October 2026 to 19 March 2027; the subject requirements PDF says at least three AP exams are required and must match the programme’s subject requirements.
- Exemptions: freshmen with A-levels or the IB Diploma may apply for exemption from relevant Accountancy or Business core courses after admission.
5. Students at Canadian high schools
- BC: BC graduation diploma with at least 90% in each of five Grade 12 subjects; Ontario needs 90% in each of six Grade 12 U or M courses.
- Mathematics: applied courses such as Workplace Mathematics are generally not enough, but NTU states that Grade 12 Mathematics of Data Management is acceptable for business programmes. Three or more relevant AP subjects may strengthen an application.
- Application window: 15 October 2026 to 20 January 2027, two months earlier than Gaokao and IB. Final-year students submit final results within three days of release.
- English: not required if your high school was taught in English and your transcript does not show ESL or EAL.
6. Transfer students
- Students who have completed at least one term at another university can apply through the standard process; successful applicants are offered a first-year place, not advanced standing.
- NBS says eligible freshmen may apply for course exemptions, assessed individually.
7. Fees and scholarships
- 2026/27 business tuition (per year, SGD, including GST), covering Accountancy, Accountancy (Sustainability Management and Analytics), Applied Computing in Finance, Business, and the Accountancy and Business and Business and Computing double degrees:
- international students with the MOE Tuition Grant: 21,800;
- without the grant: 45,600;
- plus miscellaneous fees. Fees are fixed for your whole candidature by year of entry; 2027/28 fees are not yet published.
- Tuition Grant: international students who take it sign an agreement to work for a Singapore-registered entity for 3 years after graduating.
- Nanyang Global Scholarship: open to all nationalities; covers tuition after the grant, a living allowance of SGD 6,500 a year, up to SGD 2,000 a year for accommodation for hostel residents, a travel grant of up to SGD 8,000 and a one-off SGD 2,000 computer allowance; a CGPA of 3.5/5.0 is required.
- NBS Global Leaders Programme: NBS’s signature scholars programme, open to all nationalities enrolled in a four-year NBS programme. Tick the option on the NTU application; shortlisted applicants are interviewed. It includes a year at an overseas business school in Year 3, executive mentoring and industry workshops, with a CGPA of 3.75 required.
